ABOUT
Hi, I'm Dr. Andrea Thinnes
I’m an occupational therapist with 25 years of clinical experience specializing in maternal health and I’m here to walk beside you through your pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and postpartum journey.

MY STORY
Why this work matters to me
Well Nested Mother was founded with one belief at its center: mothers deserve compassionate, holistic care that meets them where they actually are.
I hold a doctoral degree in occupational therapy with over 25 years of clinical practice and 20+ years teaching in a nationally ranked doctoral OT program. I'm board-certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International and hold a graduate certificate in Lifestyle Medicine from Creighton University.
But credentials are only part of the story. I delight in being a mother of three wonderful emerging adults and Nana to twin grands. I have experienced birth trauma, pregnancy and childbirth complications, breastfeeding, returning to work postpartum.
I have supported mothers who’ve experienced trauma, pregnancy and infant loss, pregnancy complications and navigating motherhood, school and work roles during pregnancy and postpartum.
What I bring to every session is a deep, steady belief that every woman is unique and has individualized needs in the transition to motherhood, and together, we can build the structure and support that lets you breathe again. You are not alone.
MY APPROACH
Support that meets you where you are.
My approach is grounded in real life, not perfection. Together we look at how your days actually function, where your energy is going, what's contributing to overwhelm, and what support would truly make a difference.
Holistic. Functional. Identity-honoring.
Empathy
Every mother's journey is unique. We meet yours with compassion, not prescription.
Whole-person care
Mind, body, and spirit — woven together through evidence-based practices.
Community
We break down stigma so you can speak openly and feel less alone.
